Surface Restoration

After a well is plugged, the earth well-site and any associated lease roads also need to be restored.  This may include soil regeneration, reforestation, contamination cleanup, etc...

  • Although each well-site is different, testing can be performed to understand the condition of the surface.  If necessary, the dirt is scraped to rid the area of harmful contaminates.  The surface may require compost before seeding in order to breathe life back into the soil.  If appropriate, seeding may include planting native trees and shrubs to maximize carbon sequestration.  It is also important to create unity with the surroundings; offsetting landowners will become a part of the restoration process ensuring a much larger impact than the wellsite itself.
